International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

45% of women have reported themeselves or a woman or child they know have experienced a form of violence. 7 in 10 women said they think verbal or physical abuse by a partner has become more common. And 6 in 10 felt that sexual harassment in public spaces has worsen. UN Women (2021).

16 Days of activism against gender-based violence is an annual international campaign. Starts on 25 November, with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The purpose of this campaign is to propose strategies to demand the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

The fear that women feel when we find ourselves in situations of violence freezes us, leaves us not knowing what to do.

Cinema, arts and literature have been helpful to people seeking solace and relief. Botánica de Proyectos has shown me the importance and value I have as a person, and like me, more women and girls deserve it, which is why within the framework of the 16 days of activism we have joined this campaign.

Women in the creative industry who are part of the Botánica de Proyectos portfolio (and those who are not) constantly fight for all women. We are infinitely grateful to those raising their voices and resisting.
